Karen is a licensed clinical social worker that graduated from Western Michigan University with a
Masters in Social Work. She has over twenty years of experience of working with children, teens, adults,
and families and enjoys the diversity of working with people of all ages (3 years and up)!
When Karen works with children, she believes it is important to involve the parents and has expertise
with kids and teens that have ADHD, depression, anger/behavioral problems, anxiety, relationship
problems, poor self-esteem, grief, and trauma. Karen knows therapy requires hard work, but also
believes coming to therapy should be fun and enjoyable.
Karen enjoys working with adults that are experiencing struggles in the home or work settings with
relationships, martial concerns, life changes, losses, anxiety, or depression. She assists people to
recognize their strengths, gain skills to cope better with their situation, and become empowered to
manage their lives in an effective manner. Karen provides individual, family, and marital counseling.
Karen uses a variety of approaches that include play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma
Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Karen is available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from morning to early evening. She
accepts most insurances, Medicaid, Medicare, and private pay. Karen welcomes the opportunity to meet
with you or your family to work together toward reaching your goals and feeling more confident to
handle your life situation! She also offers faith based counseling services for those who are interested.
